SPECIAL MEMORIAL MEMORIES OF JAMES REEDS JR. AUGUST 15 TH. 2026 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Reeds Jr., a beloved son, brother, and friend, who left this world on June 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with heart disease. Born on January 30, 1949, in South Carolina, James was a bright light of warmth and humor, whose presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him. James was the cherished son of Mary Alice Reeds, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. Though he was predeceased by his loving mother and sister Annie Mae, his surviving sister, Pauline, continues to hold his memory close, cherishing the countless moments they shared. He holds memories with Pauline, reminiscing over times she visited him in Texas, hanging out, and remembering their childhood memories like play fighting, talking trash, and having beers for fun; those were the good old days. He is the father of his eldest daughter, Angel Reeds McCraw James George Reeds and Dawayne Reeds Jr., along with his lovely grandkids. As a proud veteran, James served his country with honor in the United States Air Force, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism. He served in Vietnam, Arizona, the Philippines, Okinawa, and Japan. Following his service, he dedicated his professional life to helping others as a lab technician. Known for his skill and compassion, he made an exception to draw his own son's blood, a testament to his dedication to family. lastly he retired as a master sergeant on 9/1/1991. Beyond his career, James was a vibrant member of the Eagles Club in Sun City, Arizona, where he found joy and camaraderie. His life was rich with hobbies and interests, from fishing and gardening to dancing and sharing stories of his beloved with his only daughter, Angel Reeds Mccraw. James was known for his dry humor and witty charm, often lightening the mood with his playful suggestion to "let's go to the bar." He was a man of many talents, often tackling do-it-yourself projects with his reassuring mantra, "don't worry, I can fix that." James's warm smile and great heart left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. His unique blend of crazy fun and calming spirit was a gift to his friends and family, who enjoyed his company at countless gatherings in Sun City. A celebration of James's life will be held on August 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Long Beach Hall Recreation Center, in honor of James's generous spirit and love for helping others. James Reeds Jr. was a man of extraordinary character and warmth. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
