James Monroe "Wes" Jones

June 20, 1971 — June 14, 2026

It is with profound sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of James Monroe "Wes" Jones, who peacefully departed this world on June 14, 2026, just shy of his 55th birthday. Born on June 20, 1971, in the heart of Meadville, Pennsylvania, Wes was a cherished son to Earnestine Jones and the late James Wofford Sr., a beloved brother, a devoted father, and a true friend to many. Wes's journey began at Meadville Area Senior High, where he graduated with fond memories and enduring friendships. His career saw him dedicate his skills and spirit to various roles, most notably at Giant Eagle, McDonald's, and Allegheny College. In these environments, Wes was known not only for his work ethic but for the warmth and understanding he brought to each interaction, leaving a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. Those who knew Wes will remember his infectious laughter and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life. Whether engaged in spirited games of cards or dominoes, or sharing a joke with friends and family, his presence was a beacon of light and happiness. Wes's ability to be reliable and dependable made him a cornerstone in the lives of those around him, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. His humility in acknowledging his mistakes and his willingness to make amends showcased his strength of character and deep sense of integrity. Wes's legacy is lovingly carried on by his mother, Earnestine Jones, and his siblings, Angela Jones, Mary Moody, Aanik Jones, and James Wofford Jr. He leaves behind his six beloved children, Javon King Adrian, Mia (fondly known as Magoo), Monica, Marcus, Pierre (Jordan), and Jalessa Jones (also lovingly called Magoo). His family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride and joy in their accomplishments and happiness. Wes is now reunited with his father, James Wofford Sr., in eternal peace. As we gather to celebrate his life, we invite family and friends to join us for a memorial service on June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mizner Funeral Home, located at 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335. Together, we will honor the wonderful man Wes was and the beautiful legacy he leaves behind. In this time of mourning, let us also find comfort and solace in the memories we shared with Wes, embracing the love and laughter that he brought into our lives. His spirit will forever remain in our hearts, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
