James Milton Olds, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on May 16, 2026, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Born on April 13, 1947, in Ripley, TN, James was the cherished son of the late Milton and Erma (Erwin) Olds. James lived a life rich in love, service, and dedication. He was a proud veteran, having served his country with honor in the United States Army. Following his military service, James embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a truck driver, retiring after many years of devoted service. His work ethic and commitment were admired by all who knew him. James was a man of simple pleasures. He found great joy in the beauty of nature, spending countless hours tending to his garden and nurturing his love for flowers. His green thumb was evident to anyone who visited his home, where vibrant gardens were always in bloom. An avid outdoorsman, James relished the quiet pursuits of hunting and fishing, finding peace and solitude in the natural world. Family was the cornerstone of James's life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his daughter, Brandy (John) Willis of Bradford, TN; his sons, Johnathan Milton (Jennifer) Olds and Jamie Olds, both of Halls, TN; his sisters, Judy Blew of Newbern, TN, and Pansy Nolen of Halls, TN; and his brother, Mike Olds of Buchanan, TN.
