James Milton Bell, born on January 11, 1948, at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. A man whose life was a testament to the power of kindness and commitment, James will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. James was the cherished son of the late Doris Gunter and James Curtis Bell. His early years in Atlanta laid the foundation for a life filled with integrity and passion. A devoted brother, James is predeceased by his brother, David, and is survived by his beloved sister, Susan Arnold, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. In 1984, James married the love of his life, Ellenda, with whom he shared nearly 42 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was a beautiful testament to partnership and mutual respect, providing a foundation of love and support for their family. Together, they raised three remarkable children: Mark Bell and his wife, Michele; Melanie Carrick and her husband, Mike; and Marshall Bell and his wife, Kelli Jo. James was a proud and devoted father, always finding joy in his children's achievements and adventures. James found immense joy and fulfillment in his role as a grandfather to his precious granddaughter, Molly Carrick. His eyes would light up at the mere mention of Molly, and he cherished every moment spent in her company, from afternoon playtimes to sharing stories of his own childhood adventures. Throughout his life, James was a man of many talents and interests. Whether it was his passion for gardening, his love for classic literature, or his unwavering support for his favorite local sports teams, he embraced every endeavor with enthusiasm and dedication. His vibrant spirit and gentle nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. James's unexpected passing leaves an indescribable void in the hearts of his family and friends. However, his legacy of love, kindness, and humility will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known him. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Ellenda; his children and their spouses; his granddaughter, Molly; his sister, Susan; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. As we bid farewell to our beloved James, we find solace in the knowledge that his spirit will forever remain alive in our hearts. His life was a testament to the beauty of human connection, and his legacy will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those he touched. A private family service will be held to honor James's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of James Milton Bell. May he rest in eternal peace.
