In Loving Memory of James Louis Scott It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Louis Scott, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. Born on November 11, 1958, in Andrews, South Carolina, James peacefully left this world on August 18, 2026, after a courageous and private battle with cancer at the age of 67. He was employed at Clean Craft for 17 years where he was a dedicated and enthusiastic employee. James had a passion for drag racing from a young age. He loved late model cars; he spent countless hours keeping his Lincoln clean. He was a Steeler's fan, his loyalty to his team never faded. He had a love for old school music, every melody in his collection told a story. He also had a love for plants, helping green things grow and thrive. James was the cherished son of Wilimena Scott-Cowart and the late Robert James Scott. His father, along with his son, Corey J. Davis, and brother, Ronald Scott, predeceased him. Despite these losses, James's spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to be a beacon of love and strength for his family. He leaves behind his wife, Carmen (Randall) Scott. James was a devoted father to Lamar Byron and Yancey Fruster, and a grandfather to 14 beautiful grandchildren. Among them, he shared a particularly special bond with his granddaughter, Corri'yonna Davis. James was a man of many connections. He is survived by his mother, Wilimena, and his sister, Brenda (Leo) Bullard, as well as his nieces and nephews: Courtney Bowen, Ronald Scott, and Jayson Robinson. He will also be fondly remembered by his aunts and uncles: Mary Scott, Robert (Hattie) Scott, Ben (Mary) Scott, Jannie (Jack) Thornton, Roosevelt Scott & Mildred Buckner, Ola (Noble) Graves, Lilly (Daniel) Bradley, and Dorothy Scott. Throughout his life, James built and nurtured numerous friendships. Among these, his special friend Paula Davis and countless cousins and friends hold a treasured place in his heart. A celebration of James's life will be held on August 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Newcomers Funeral Home, located at 6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY 14609. Family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to join in honoring his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in James's memory, as a tribute to his generous and compassionate spirit. James Louis Scott will be remembered for the love and light he brought into the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
