James Lee Blythe
March 17, 1954 — May 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we celebrate the life of James Lee Blythe, who departed this world on May 24, 2026, in the gentle embrace of his home in Rogers, Ohio, surrounded by the love of his cherished family. Born on March 17, 1954, to Robert and Cynthia ‘Blackwell’ Blythe, James was a beacon of warmth, humor, and kindness throughout his 72 years of life.
James was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Ginny Blythe, with whom he shared 32 extraordinary years of marriage. Their journey together, which began on June 12, 1992, in Lisbon, Ohio, was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. As a father, James was an unwavering pillar of strength and guidance to his two sons, Shawn (married to Sarah) and Seth, and his three daughters, Katherine (married to Marve McBride), Stephanie Blythe, and Suzanna (married to Roy McKinney). His legacy of love extends to his eight adoring grandchildren and one precious great-grandchild, whose lives he enriched with his gentle wisdom and playful spirit.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Cynthia, and his brother Eugene, James is survived by a family who will forever hold him close in their hearts. His presence will be sorely missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
James dedicated 30 years of his life to his craft as a mechanic, retiring in 2021. His work ethic and dedication were admired by colleagues and customers alike. A man of faith, James was an active member of the First Baptist Church for four decades, where he found solace and community, sharing his wit and warmth with fellow congregants.
An avid fisherman, James never missed an opening day, reveling in the tranquility of nature and the simple joy of a good catch. His passion for woodworking allowed him to craft beautiful, cherished furniture pieces for his grandchildren, each piece a testament to his love and skill. James also found great joy in tending to his flower garden, where he nurtured life and beauty, much like he did with his family and friends.
Known for his quick wit and warm smile, James had an uncanny ability to light up any room he entered, leaving those around him with a sense of joy and comfort. His humor and kindness were his trademarks, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be carried forward by those who knew him.
In honoring James's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held in his memory. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing he is forever in our hearts. The family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time of loss.
James Lee Blythe will be remembered not only for the life he lived but for the love he gave. His family holds him dearly in their hearts, carrying forward his legacy of kindness, humor, and love.
"Forever in our hearts."
