It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of James LaTrun Goods, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, who departed this life on June 10, 2026, at the age of 56. James's academic journey began at Southern University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in History, followed by Master's degrees in both History and Economics. He also served in the military in the U.S. Corps of Engineers and was a member of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research-Baton Rouge Chapter. Before his departure, he was a teacher at Broadmoor High School and an employee of many years at L'Auberge Casino. His passion for learning was matched only by his desire to share knowledge, inspiring those around him through both his career and personal endeavors.

Don’t cry for me. I will be okay. Heaven is my home now, and this is where I’ll stay. Don’t cry for me. I’m where I belong. I want you to be happy and try to stay strong. Don’t cry for me. It was just my time, but I will see you someday on the other side. Don’t cry for me. I am not alone. The angels are with me to welcome me home.
