October 21, 1950 — August 25, 2026

James L. McClearen, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on October 21, 1950, James dedicated his life to the principles of love, faith, and family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him. James was the beloved husband of Lucinda I. McClearen, with whom he shared a remarkable journey of 59 years. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, characterized by affection, mutual respect, and an unwavering commitment to one another. James often spoke of his deep love for Lucinda, describing it as "a whole bunches," a sentiment that beautifully captured the warmth and affection he held for her. Together, James and Lucinda raised two wonderful children: Colleen Marie Strauss and James L. McClearen Jr. He was a proud father whose love and guidance shaped their lives profoundly. James was also a doting grandfather to five grandchildren and a great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. His family was his greatest treasure, and he encouraged them to love and care for one another, a value he held dear throughout his life. James's faithful companion, Marley, his devoted dog, was always by his side, providing him with comfort and companionship. Marley will undoubtedly miss the gentle presence of his beloved owner. In addition to his family life, James was an active member of the Huntingdon Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. His faith was a cornerstone of his existence, guiding him in his interactions with others and inspiring him to live a life of service and humility. His congregation was a source of strength and community, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to the spiritual growth of those around him. In keeping with James's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing his family to honor his life in an intimate setting. While the gathering is private, James's spirit will be celebrated by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Jim will be remembered for his unwavering love, his steadfast faith, and his gentle spirit. His life was a testament to the power of kindness and the enduring strength of family bonds. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy will continue to inspire us to love and take care of each other, just as he always wished.
