May 3, 1940 — July 19, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of James Kelly Jackson, who departed this life on July 19, 2026, at the Hospice of Savannah. James was born on May 3, 1940, in the quaint town of Gordonsville, Virginia, to his loving parents, John and Alberta Smith. James was a man whose life was a testament to joy and resilience. Known for his radiant smile and cheerful disposition, he brought happiness to everyone he encountered. James cherished his family above all else, and his legacy is reflected in the lives of those he loved so dearly. Preceding him in death are his beloved wife, Artelia Jackson, his parents, John and Alberta Smith, his sons Purcell Jackson, Jeffery Jackson, and Darren Parker, his brother Robert Jackson his granddaughter Shena Mobley, and his great-grandson Tarmaine Boyd Jr. James is survived by a very special friend, Diana Williams, and his extensive and loving family, including his daughters: Priscilla Jackson, Shenita Jackson, Indi Jackson, Enja Jackson, Tonya Jackson, Tajauna Tyson Jackson (Jerry), Latarshen Johnson, Sybil Parker, and Angela Parker; his sons: Kenneth Jackson, Laroy Johnson, Arron Johnson, and Rodrick Parker; his sister, Bernice Carey; and his brother, Alfonso Williams. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will continue to carry forward his spirit and love. James received his education in Gordonsville, Virginia, and spent his career at the Volkswagen dealership company, where he worked with dedication until his retirement. Beyond his professional life, James was a man of simple pleasures. He had a particular fondness for western movies, often spending hours engrossed in the tales of cowboys and frontier life. But above all, he treasured the company of his family, finding his greatest joy in the moments shared with them. In honor of James's life, the family kindly requests that any donations be made to a charity of your choice. This gesture would be a fitting tribute to a man who lived his life with such generosity and love. As we bid farewell to James Kelly Jackson, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man who will forever be remembered for his kindness, his joy, and the love he shared with all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before him.
