James Joseph Lushok
April 8, 1959 — October 22, 2026
James Joseph Lushok, a beloved companion, devoted family man, and steadfast friend, passed away on October 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. Born on April 8, 1959, in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, James lived a life marked by service, craftsmanship, and the warmth of his unforgettable personality.
James was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served from 1977 to 1981. As a Hawk Missile System Operator and Unit Diary Clerk, he demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill, earning the rank of Sergeant. His commitment to excellence was recognized with the Meritorious Mast medal, which he received for four consecutive years.
After his honorable military service, James applied his talents and passion for creation to the fields of carpentry and culinary arts. With certifications as both a carpenter and a Gold Medal chef, he spent years working in concessions before founding his own construction company, JL Construction. Through hard work and determination, James built a successful business, leaving a lasting impact in his community.
Beyond his professional achievements, James was known for his quick wit, ornery smile, and his unwavering loyalty to his favorite sports teams—the Philadelphia Flyers and Eagles. He was an ardent fan, cherishing every game and sharing his enthusiasm with those around him.
James is survived by his cherished companion, Carol Ann Volpe, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. He was also a beloved figure to Carol's children: Anthony Volpe Jr., Christie Ann Volpe Stratoti, and Chelsie Anna Volpe Alliano, whom he loved as his own. His legacy of love and kindness extends to his three grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
In remembering James, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life defined by courage, creativity, and a boundless capacity for love. While he will be deeply missed, his spirit and the memories he created will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him.
