JAMES JOHN OLINGER

July 31, 1965 — September 3, 2026

James John Olinger, affectionately known as John, passed away peacefully at his home in Springfield, Missouri on September 3, 2026. Born on July 31, 1965, in Springfield, John was the beloved son of the late Sherman David Olinger and Iris Pauline Olinger. His parents, along with his cherished daughter Heather Dawn Olinger, preceded him in death. John spent his formative years in Republic, Missouri, where he graduated from Republic High School in 1984. He was a man of many talents, having worked in concrete for many years and embracing a variety of hands-on professions throughout his life. His work ethic was admired by all who knew him, and his dedication was reflected in every task he undertook. A true outdoorsman at heart, John found his greatest joy in the embrace of nature. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply spending time outdoors, he was happiest surrounded by the beauty of the natural world. His love for the outdoors was something he shared with his family and friends, creating cherished memories that will be held dear by all who were fortunate enough to join him on his adventures. John's personal life was enriched by the loving companionship of his life partner, Michelle Green, who stood by his side for many years. John is survived by his children: Jacob Olinger, Jessica Olinger, and Macy Olinger. His legacy also lives on through his 9 grandchildren. John is also survived by his siblings Paula Tucker (Dennis), Sharon Valenzuela (Ray), Sherman Olinger (Jodie), and Shelly Olinger along with a multitude of nieces and nephews. John's Aunts and Uncles who he thought the world of, along with his cousins were a huge part of his life into his older years. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor John's life and his profound impact on those around him. His family takes solace in the knowledge that "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in John's memory, as a tribute to his generous spirit and his commitment to helping others. John's presence will be deeply missed, but the love, kindness, and warmth he shared with those fortunate enough to know him will remain in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace, embraced by the nature he adored and the love of his family.
