It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of James "Jimmy" Waller, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend. Jimmy passed away peacefully at his home on October 24, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on January 28, 1950, in the serene countryside of Campbell County, Virginia, his journey was one marked by kindness, resilience, and a deep love for family. Jimmy was the cherished son of the late Frank Merritt Waller and Helen Gallaher. Growing up in a close-knit family, Jimmy was the embodiment of warmth and generosity, traits he carried throughout his life. He was predeceased by his loving parents, his brothers Robert Waller and Alvin Orvis Mills, and his dear wife, Louise Flynn, whose passing he mourned deeply but whose memory he cherished every day. Family was the cornerstone of Jimmy’s life. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Kathy Randolph, who was the apple of his eye and the source of much pride and joy. Jimmy's heart was also warmed by his brother, Frank Waller of Florida, with whom he shared countless memories and a bond that transcended distance. His life was further enriched by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart and were frequent beneficiaries of his wise counsel and gentle humor. Jimmy's life was a tapestry woven with threads of hard work, integrity, and a profound appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. He was known for his unwavering work ethic and his dedication to his community. His neighbors and friends often spoke of his willingness to lend a helping hand, whether it was fixing a broken fence or sharing a cup of coffee and conversation on a quiet morning. Though Jimmy faced challenges, his spirit remained unbroken. He taught those around him the value of perseverance and the importance of cherishing each moment with loved ones. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the understanding that life’s true wealth is found in the relationships we nurture. As we say goodbye to Jimmy, we remember a life filled with love and laughter. His gentle spirit and kind heart will be missed, but his memory will live on in the stories we share and the lives he touched. His family invites all who knew him to celebrate his life, sharing memories and finding comfort in the impact he made on so many. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jimmy’s name to a charity of choice, ensuring that his spirit of giving endures beyond his years. A graveside service will be held to honor Jimmy’s life, details of which will be shared with family and friends. May we all take a page from Jimmy's book, living with love, kindness, and an ever-open heart. Rest in peace, dear Jimmy. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
