James "Jimmy" Boone

January 24, 1967 — May 8, 2026

James "Jimmy" Boone, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, at the age of 59. Born on January 24, 1967, in North Richland Hills, Texas, Jimmy was the cherished son of Robert and Gemmye Boone Sr., who preceded him in death, along with his siblings Cathy Elrod, Bonnie Still, and Robert "Bobby" Boone Jr. Jimmy's life was a testament to love, service, and laughter. From a young age, he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to helping others, a trait that led him to a distinguished career in firefighting. After graduating from Weatherford College Fire School, Jimmy dedicated many years as a volunteer firefighter and EMT, eventually serving as the Volunteer Fire Chief for the Reno Fire Department in Reno, Texas. His bravery and selflessness left an indelible mark on his community and the lives he touched. On January 1, 2014, Jimmy married the love of his life, Tamara. Together, they built a life filled with love and adventure, raising a beautiful family, including children Tristyn Boone (Charlotte), Jaysen Boone, Mitchell Tolliver, Denise Tolliver (Roman), and Sean Tolliver. Jimmy was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Family was the cornerstone of Jimmy's world, and his love knew no bounds. He is survived by his devoted wife Tamara, his children, his sisters Deborah Johnson (Ron), Jeanne Trotter (Tommy), Shane Boone (Sharon), and Becky Featherstone (Scott), and his extended family, including mother-in-law Betty Thrasher and brother-in-law Bo Thrasher (Lorrie). His family extends beyond blood, including Shannon Blake and Chris Blake, who held a special place in his heart. Jimmy was known for his humor, often self-proclaimed as the "king of dad jokes," and his endless, colorful stories. His sarcasm and wit were matched only by his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand, though he was quick to joke about his reluctance when it came to helping people move. He was a man of wisdom, always eager to share advice—whether solicited or not—and loved nothing more than spending time with his family, camping, fishing, kayaking, and building or fixing things. A service to honor and celebrate Jimmy's life will be held on May 14, 2026, at Chisolm Summit Community Church, located at 9705 CR 1016, Burleson, TX 76028. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Debbie Johnson, Jeanne Trotter, and John Sanderson for their compassionate care and unwavering support during Jimmy's illness. Though he may have left this earthly realm, Jimmy's spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Reno Fire Department in honor of Jimmy's lifelong dedication to helping others. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, dear Jimmy. Your love and laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
