January 24, 1967 — May 8, 2026

North Richland Hills, Texas mourns the loss of a cherished soul, James "Jimmy" Boone, who peacefully passed away on May 8, 2026. Born on January 24, 1967, to the late Robert and Gemmye Boone Sr., Jimmy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Jimmy spent his early years in the warm embrace of his hometown, North Richland Hills. He was the youngest of his siblings and is predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Cathy Elrod and Bonnie Still; and his brother, Robert "Bobby" Boone Jr. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and dedication. His loving wife, Tamara, whom he married on January 1, 2014, was his steadfast partner in life's journey. Together, they created a beautiful family tapestry, enriched with love and laughter. His children, Tristyn Boone (Charlotte), Jaysen Boone, Mitchell Tolliver, Denise Tolliver (Roman), and Sean Tolliver, along with his 11 grandchildren, were the center of his world. Jimmy's family was the heart of his existence, and his devotion to them was unwavering. Jimmy's siblings, Deborah Johnson (Ron), Jeanne Trotter (Tommy), Shane Boone (Sharon), and Becky Featherstone (Scott), along with his mother-in-law Betty Thrasher, brother-in-law Bo Thrasher (Lorrie), and extended family Shannon Blake and Chris Blake, will carry his memory in their hearts forever. A man of many talents and passions, Jimmy dedicated much of his life to serving his community. Graduating from Weatherford College Fire School, he found his calling as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. His commitment and leadership led him to become the Volunteer Fire Chief for the Reno Fire Department in Reno, Texas. His service was not just a job but a testament to his character: a man always willing to help others, unless, of course, it involved moving furniture. Jimmy was a man of humor, crowned by his self-proclaimed title as king of the dad jokes. His wit was matched only by his love for storytelling and teaching. Whether you sought his wisdom or not, he was ever eager to share his knowledge, often accompanied by a hearty laugh. His love for the great outdoors was apparent in his hobbies; camping, fishing, and kayaking were his favorite pastimes, along with building and fixing things. His hands were never idle, and his heart was always full. A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on May 14, 2026, at Chisolm Summit Community Church, located at 9705 CR 1016, Burleson, TX 76028. His family extends a special message of gratitude to Debbie Johnson, Jeanne Trotter, and John Sanderson for their compassionate care during Jimmy’s illness. Jimmy Boone's life was a testament to love, laughter, and service. While he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever be a guiding light for those who knew and loved him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and community, reminding us all of the joy and kindness he brought into this world.
