In Loving Memory

James (JIm) Eury
August 30, 1938 — June 17, 2026
James ‘Jim’ Eury, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on June 17th after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Jim was born on August 30, 1938, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to the late James and Myrtle Eury. Jim's life was a testament to resilience and joy, characterized by his quick wit, humor, and a profound ability to bring laughter to any room. His infectious spirit made him the life of every gathering, and his absence leaves a void that will not soon be filled.
He was predeceased by his loving parents, James and Myrtle, his cherished daughter, Paula Eury, and siblings, Gladys Caldwell, Nancy McGuiness, Marie Powers, and Ted Eury. Their memories live on alongside Jim's, carried forward by those who survive him.
Jim's love story with his devoted wife, Virginia Eury, spanned decades, each marked by dedication and warmth. Jim also leaves behind his son Eddie, daughters Sandra and Jennie and siblings, Margie Roger and Larry Eury, whose lives were touched by his presence.
Jim’s wit and humor set him apart. He was truly the life of the party, always ready with a joke or story to share. He was an avid nascar fan and music lover. He found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was the thrill of the race or the soothing melodies of his favorite tunes.
He was a proud active member of the Moose Lodge since 1978, Jim found purpose within the organization but his passion for tinkering and fixing things was legendary; there was seemingly nothing he couldn't fix. Jim's hands were always at the ready to help where he could.
Jim's legacy extends to two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, in whom his spirit will undoubtedly live on. Their lives will forever be influenced by his humor, love, and the stories of his adventures and antics.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim's life on June 24, 2026, at 11:30 AM, at Charlotte Memorial Gardens, located at 7632 Hood Road. It is here that we will gather to honor a man whose life was a testament to love, laughter, and resilience.
As we say goodbye to Jim, we remember a man who left an indelible mark on everyone he met—a man whose laughter will echo in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Jim. You will be dearly missed, but your spirit will forever be with us.
