With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James Jefferson, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. James peacefully departed this world on May 12, 2026, at the age of 73, while surrounded by the love of his family. His journey began on March 14, 1953, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, where he was born to John and Mary Jefferson. James was a beacon of wisdom, a pillar of strength, and a source of unwavering love for all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a testament to kindness, compassion, and dedication, traits he imbued into every role he embraced throughout his life, whether as a devoted son, a nurturing father, or a cherished grandfather. Growing up in the bustling neighborhoods of Chicago, James learned the values of hard work and perseverance from his parents, John and Mary. He carried these lessons with him throughout his life, becoming a source of inspiration for his own family and the community at large. James was predeceased by his beloved mother, Mary, his father, John, and his dear brother, John Jr. Their memories provided him with strength and guidance, and he cherished them deeply throughout his life’s journey. A family man at heart, James's greatest joy was spending time with his family, particularly his 16 grandchildren who brought light and laughter to his days. He took immense pride in their achievements, guiding them with wisdom and love, and leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. His legacy of love and unity will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those he leaves behind.
