James Robert "Bob" Work, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on October 4, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence of his devoted family. His life was a testament to dedication, honor, and the profound love for his wife. Bob graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1944, just as the world was in the throes of World War II. He answered the call to serve by enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served honorably from 1944 to 1947. Bob's life blossomed with the love and companionship of his beloved wife, Bonnie Lou Pegg. They were married on October 17, 1960, and shared 66 wonderful years together, filled with laughter, adventures, and unwavering support for one another. Together, they built a loving family, raising four wonderful children: Jay (Cristi), Jani (Chaz), Jimmy, and Jason. Bob's legacy of love and kindness lives on in his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his parents, James and Esther Work, and his brother, William "Bill" Work. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and his children and their families, who will continue to carry forward his spirit and the cherished memories they shared. There were many cherished memories. He loved football, horse racing, table games, and especially a good crap game. He was a good story teller. People loved his stories. He was a business man through and through. He owned several theatres in Pine Grove, WV, Work's Drive-In, WV(May 1949 - August 1988)and Moonlight, OH. He then went into the motel business in 1989. In honoring Bob's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. James believed deeply in the power of giving and helping others, a value he instilled in all who knew him. Though Bob has departed from this earthly life, his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know and love him.
