James Isaiah Weston

James Isaiah Weston, age 73, peacefully entered eternal rest on August 28, 2026, at Wellstar Cobb Medical Center in Austell, Georgia. James was born on May 23, 1953, in Durham, North Carolina, where he spent most of his life. He was born to the late Mary Barker Weston and James Weston. James was educated in Durham County and was a proud graduate of Hillside High School, Class of 1972. Following high school, James served in the United States military from 1972 to 1975. During his service, he was injured, an experience that became a part of his life's journey. James was a hardworking man who held several jobs throughout his life. He was employed by Data Transit and later worked as a Nursing Assistant at Methides Retirement Home for several years. James enjoyed many things in life. He had a love for sports, reading, cooking, music, and singing. He was especially known for his cooking and took pride in preparing good food. James also had a desire to pursue truck driving, a career path he was interested in and hoped to pursue. James leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Freida Weston; one brother, Leon Weston; one sister, Margaret Weston; two sisters-in-law, Flora McBroom and Ezella Pellum, both of Durham County, North Carolina; two daughters, Jameida Weston of Georgia and Brittney Rogers of Elon, North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Angelez Kim, Samariah Rogers, and Marquis Rogers. He also leaves behind extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will cherish the memories they shared with him. James was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Barker Weston and James Weston, and his sister, Janise Weston. James' life was filled with many experiences, challenges, relationships, interests, and memories. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the memories of his life will continue through the people who knew him and the family he leaves behind. His love of music, singing, cooking, sports, and reading, along with the memories created throughout his life, will remain a part of his family's story. May James Isaiah Weston rest peacefully. May his memory continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him, loved him, and shared a part of his journey.
