He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Geneva MaGahee, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. James attended Harlem High School, where he not only excelled academically but also developed a lifelong passion for basketball. His love for the game was infectious, and he often spent his free time on the court, sharing his enthusiasm with anyone willing to join him. James will be fondly remembered by his children, Monique Crawford, Keith Dunn, Jermaine Crawford, Porscha Crawford, and Jamon Crawford. He was a proud and devoted father who took immense pride in his family, always supporting them through life's challenges and triumphs. His legacy continues through his twelve grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and laughter. James was known for his generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer the shirt off his back to someone in need. He was, as many would attest, one of the most loving and caring people they had ever encountered. His kindness and compassion touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving a lasting impact on his community. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor James's life and legacy.
