September 7, 1953 — April 17, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Herman Young, a remarkable soul whose journey on this earth ended on April 17, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with renal and cardio illnesses. Born on September 7, 1953, in the welcoming embrace of Massillon, Ohio, James's life was a testament to resilience, curiosity, and an unwavering commitment to the joy of discovery. James was the cherished son of the late Thomas Young Sr. and Maudine (Pearson) Young, who instilled in him a deep appreciation for knowledge and a love for family. He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, as well as his beloved siblings, Timothy Young and Janice Elaine Young. He now joins them in eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Though James never married, he found his life's fulfillment in the company of family and friends. He is survived by his brothers Thomas Young Jr. of Ashville, AL, Gary Young of Massillon, OH, and Anthony R. Young of Menifee, CA, along with his sister Rita Marie Young of Minneapolis, MN, and his cousin Raymond Shamsid-deen Sr. of Saint Paul, MN. James's heart was a wellspring of warmth that extended to a host of other family members and friends who cherished his presence in their lives. James's educational journey took him through the schools of Massillon, Ohio, Richmond, Indiana, and St. Paul, Minnesota. His inquisitive mind found joy in a variety of pursuits, and he spent his career as a dedicated entrepreneur, always seeking new opportunities and challenges. He was a man of many interests, most notably his passion for researching and discussing natural and technical scientific programs. His belief in the principles of physics and the Conservation of Energy reflected his deep-seated conviction that matter can never be destroyed, only transformed; a philosophy that guided his understanding of the world around him. James's life was a harmonious blend of science and art. He was a true aficionado of music, finding solace and inspiration in its many forms. His love for music was only matched by his love for people, and he was known for his ability to tell a good joke, reminisce about days gone by, and share in the simple pleasure of listening to good tunes with those he held dear. James's warmth and humor, combined with his intellectual curiosity, left an indelible mark on everyone he met. He was a man of integrity and kindness, whose laughter and wisdom will echo in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy is one of joy, exploration, and an unyielding love for life. In honoring James's life, we remember his laughter, his inquisitive spirit, and his unwavering belief in the beauty and complexity of the universe. Although his physical presence is no longer with us, his essence will forever remain, transformed but never diminished, in the hearts and minds of those he loved. A private memorial service will be held to celebrate James's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in James's memory, honoring his generous spirit and his passion for knowledge and discovery.
