James Henry Randolph, Sr.
May 11, 1942 — May 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of James Henry Randolph, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. James departed this world on May 5, 2026, in the comforting embrace of his family, just shy of his 84th birthday.
Born on May 11, 1942, in the close-knit community of Arab, Alabama, James was a beacon of warmth and integrity, embodying the values instilled in him by his loving parents, Ralph and Lucille Randolph. He was preceded in death by his cherished parents and his brother, Wendell Randolph, whose memories he held dear throughout his life.
On August 6, 1960, James embarked on a lifelong journey with his devoted wife, Linda Gayle Morris. For 65 years, they nurtured a family that would grow to become his most treasured accomplishment. Together, they raised three remarkable children: James Randolph, Jr., Karana (Ronnie) Kellum, and Morris Randolph, who, in turn, blessed him with grandchildren Aubri (Thomas) Carroll, Jade (Cory) Bolan, and Brandon (Ashley) Kellum. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Granger and Adeline Carroll, McKenzee Hallmark, and Rhett Bolan, who will carry forward the values he imparted.
James leaves behind his dear sister, Julia Burnett, his brother Terry (Elizabeth) Randolph, his sister-in-law, Jean Randolph, and a tapestry of extended family, including JoAnn Corley, Courtney Herrington, and Tyler Gilliland, all of whom were touched by his kindness and wisdom. His faithful fur baby, Goldie, will miss the gentle hand and loving presence that James provided.
A man of unwavering dedication, James contributed 35 years of service to Uniroyal Tire Manufacturing before embracing a new chapter at Lake Martin Community Hospital, where he worked until his second retirement. His industrious spirit was matched only by his love for the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, tending to his garden, or meticulously curating his lawn, James found joy in the simple pleasures of nature. Yet, his heart truly soared when he was watching Braves Baseball or cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide, surrounded by family and friends.
Those who knew James will remember him as a hardworking man whose greatest passion was his family. His generous spirit and gentle humor left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.
A celebration of James's life will be held on May 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Lake Martin Funeral Home and Cremation, located at 16797 Hwy 280, Dadeville, AL 36853. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his memory to Black Dog Rescue through Venmo at Tara-Taylor-47, an organization close to James's heart.
As we bid farewell to James Henry Randolph, Sr., we hold tight to the memories and the love he shared, knowing that his spirit will forever guide us. May he rest in peace, embraced by the eternal light of God's love.
