In Loving Memory of James H. Waynick
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James H. Waynick on March 23, 2026, at his home, after valiantly battling longstanding medical issues. Born on January 4, 1972, in Frankfurt, Germany, James entered this world with a spirit of adventure and an inquisitive mind, qualities that would define his life.
James was the beloved son of the late Jimmy Ray Waynick and Judith Wooten Waynick. His formative years as an "Army Brat" took him across the globe, offering him the unique perspective and resilience that only a life of travel and adaptation can bestow. Eventually, his family settled in Hinesville, Georgia, where he graduated from Bradwell Institute in the Class of 1990.
James's career path led him to serve with dedication and integrity in various roles. He spent several years with the Department of Corrections for the State of Georgia, imparting a sense of justice and commitment to all he encountered. Most recently, he was an Inventory Control Distributor for Southern Crown Partners, where his meticulous nature and work ethic were highly regarded.
An avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves, James's passion for sports extended beyond the stands. He relished the opportunity to mentor a promising young athlete, sharing his love for the game and encouraging the pursuit of greatness. His enthusiasm was infectious and his support unwavering.
James was a cherished brother to Janet Guzman and her husband Efrain, and a devoted uncle to nieces Rebekka Jacobs (Aaron), Melissa Hawkins (Emil Holland), and Sarah Stoever (Jesse). He delighted in the laughter and joy of his great-nephews, Colton and Parker Jacobs, who brought much happiness to his life. James's legacy is remembered by his uncles Ronnie Waynick (Paige), Donnie Waynick (Mary), and Ricky Waynick (Yelina), his Aunt Judy Smith, and his former brother-in-law Wayne "Buddy" Speicher, Jr. The bond of family and friendship was precious to James, and he is fondly remembered by a host of cousins and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Henry F. "Red" Wooten and Sara Spurlin Wooten, grandparents Arthur and Clemmie Waynick, and Uncle Henry H. Wooten. Their love and guidance shaped the kind, generous man he became.
A service celebrating James's life will be held on April 3, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at 3010 John Wells Road, Hinesville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Liberty County Humane Society, an organization dear to James's heart.
Though James's journey on this earth has ended, his influence and love remain with us. His memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, a testament to a life lived with kindness, warmth, and an enduring spirit.
