James H. Waynick

January 4, 1972 — March 23, 2026

James H. Waynick, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on March 23, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on January 4, 1972, in Frankfurt, Germany, James was the cherished son of Jimmy Ray Waynick and Judith Wooten Waynick, who have predeceased him along with his grandparents, Henry F. "Red" Wooten and Sara Spurlin Wooten, Arthur and Clemmie Waynick, his Uncle Harlan Wooten, and a special Great Aunt, Jimmie Cothran Elder. From an early age, James was a spirited individual, enriched by the experiences of being an Army 'Brat'. His childhood was spent moving with his family until they settled in Hinesville, Georgia, following his father's retirement from Fort Stewart. There, James completed his education, graduating with the Class of 1990 from Bradwell Institute, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed his passion for sports, particularly as an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. James's career was marked by dedication and service. He spent several years with the Department of Corrections for the State of Georgia, where he exhibited great commitment and integrity. Most recently, he worked as an Inventory Control Distributor for Southern Crown Partners, where his colleagues appreciated his hard work, reliability, and good humor. One of James's greatest joys was mentoring a young aspiring football player, sharing his love for the sport and life lessons with a new generation. His enthusiasm and encouragement left a lasting impression, inspiring those around him to pursue their dreams with vigor and determination. James is survived by his loving sister, Janet Guzman, and her husband, Efrain. He leaves behind his dear nieces, Rebekka Jacobs and her husband Aaron, Melissa Hawkins and her partner Emil Holland, and Sarah Stoever and her husband Jesse, along with great-nephews Colton and Parker Jacobs, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his uncles, Ronnie Waynick and his wife Paige, Donnie Waynick and his wife Mary, Ricky Waynick and his wife Yelina, and Aunt Judy Smith, as well as his former brother-in-law, Wayne "Buddy" Speicher, Jr., and a host of cousins and friends who will miss his warmth and humor. A service celebrating James's life will be held on April 3, 2026, at 5:00 PM at 3010 John Wells Road, Hinesville, Georgia 31313. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Liberty County Humane Society, an organization close to James's heart, reflecting his love and compassion for animals. As we gather to remember James, let us celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, service, and an unwavering spirit. While we grieve his passing, we are grateful for the time we shared with him and the indelible impact he made on our lives. His memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
