James H. Waynick
January 4, 1972 — March 23, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, and friend, James H. Waynick, who departed this life on March 23, 2026, at the age of 54. James was born on January 4, 1972, in Frankfurt, Germany, to the late Jimmy Ray Waynick and Judith Wooten Waynick. His journey through life was marked by resilience, warmth, and a steadfast devotion to his family and community.
As the son of an Army serviceman, James spent his formative years as an "Army Brat," moving frequently until his father’s retirement from Fort Stewart, Georgia. The family finally settled in Hinesville, Georgia, which became their cherished home. James carried with him the values and lessons of his upbringing in every aspect of his life.
Educated at Bradwell Institute in Hinesville, James graduated with the Class of 1990. He went on to dedicate several years of his career to the Department of Corrections for the State of Georgia, where his diligence and integrity left a lasting impression. More recently, he was employed as an Inventory Control Distributor for Southern Crown Partners, where he was celebrated for his attention to detail and work ethic.
James was an ardent supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves, embodying the spirit and camaraderie of sportsmanship. His passion for sports extended beyond mere spectatorship, as he took great pride in mentoring a young aspiring football player named Carter, offering guidance and encouragement for a promising future.
James's life was enriched by the love of his family. He is survived by his devoted sister, Janet Guzman (Efrain); his cherished nieces, Rebekka Jacobs (Aaron), Melissa Hawkins (Emil), and Sarah Stover (Jesse); and his beloved great-nephews, Colton and Parker Jacobs. James also leaves behind his uncles Ronnie Waynick (Paige), Donnie Waynick (Mary), and Ricky Waynick (Yelena), aunt Judy Smith, and former brother-in-law Wayne "Buddy" Speicher, Jr., along with numerous cousins and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Jimmy and Judy Waynick; grandparents, Henry F. "Red" Wooten and Sara Spurlin Wooten, and Arthur and Clemmie Waynick; uncle Harlan Wooten; and a cherished great aunt, Jimmie Cothran Elder. Their memories and the legacy of love they bestowed upon James were ever-present in his heart.
A celebration of James's life will be held on April 24, 2026, at 6:00 PM at 3010 John Wells Road, Hinesville, Georgia 31313. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Liberty County Humane Society and the American Heart Association, causes close to James's heart.
James H. Waynick's life was a testament to the power of love, loyalty, and perseverance. Though he has left this world, his spirit remains in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy will endure through the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the memories cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
