James was born on May 30, 1890, in the rural fields of North Dakota, a place where the vast, open skies matched the boundless aspirations of the young dreamer who would one day captivate the hearts of so many. James Gatsby, a name synonymous with the lavish, roaring parties of the Jazz Age, was far more than a mere socialite. He was a man of deep passions and unwavering loyalty, traits that ultimately led to his tragic demise. James met his end defending the honor of the woman he loved, a testament to his enduring courage and the depth of his feelings. The son of Henry C. Gatz and the late Melinda D. Gatz, James was a devoted son whose love for his parents was as fierce as his ambition. Preceded in death by his beloved mother, Melinda, James is survived by his father, Henry, and his steadfast friend, Nick Carraway, who stood by him through the peaks and valleys of his remarkable life. Educated at the prestigious Oggsford University, James was a learned man who served his country with distinction during the tumultuous years of World War I. His service in the Great War was a testament to his bravery and commitment to a cause greater than himself. Following the war, James immersed himself in the world of business, a realm where he quickly made a name for himself as a "big business guy." Though his associations with less savory elements were whispered about, those who knew him saw a man driven by dreams and a desire to reclaim a lost love—Daisy Buchanan. Though their paths diverged, James's love for Daisy was a constant thread woven through the fabric of his life.
