James F. Delph, a cherished son of Friendship, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, TN. Born on September 27, 1941, James lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family, community, and country.
James was the beloved son of the late JC and Vera Mae Delph, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms as he joined them in eternal rest. He is survived by his loving family: his devoted sister, Joyce Delph Shands, and niece, Cathy Shands, both of Clanton, Alabama, and his brother, Harry Delph, and sister-in-law, Eunice, of Gates, Tennessee. James's life was also enriched by the care and companionship of Kathy Conlee and Dana Burns, whose dedication brought him comfort and joy.
A proud veteran, James served honorably in the United States Army, embodying the true spirit of patriotism and service. After his military service, he pursued a successful career as a salesman, where his warm personality and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on clients and colleagues alike.
James's life was a tapestry woven with devotion to his church and community. A dedicated member of his church, he found solace and strength in his faith and cherished his church family dearly. His love for his hometown was evident in his frequent visits to friends and neighbors, each encounter leaving smiles and heartfelt connections in its wake.
A true Tennessee fan, James's passion for his home state was rivaled only by his love for coffee mugs – each one a treasured memento of his life's journey. He relished simple pleasures, such as a meal of fish and chicken, and the warmth of community gatherings.
A service celebrating James's remarkable life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Halls Funeral Home, located at 109 N. Church St. Halls, TN. Family, friends, and all whose lives James touched are invited to join in honoring a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in James's honor to Serenity Animal Farm, 1950 County Rd. 254, Clanton, AL 35046, reflecting James's love and compassion for all living creatures.
