In loving memory of James F. Delph, a cherished soul whose gentle presence and heartfelt laughter touched the lives of many, we announce his peaceful passing on May 21, 2026, at Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, TN. Born on September 27, 1941, in the quaint town of Friendship, TN, James embodied the very spirit of his birthplace—warm, welcoming, and forever loyal. James was the beloved son of the late JC and Vera Mae Delph, who welcomed him into the world with love and nurtured a man who would grow to be a pillar of strength and kindness within his community. He is predeceased by his devoted parents but leaves behind a family who cherished him dearly: his sister Joyce Delph Shands and her daughter, his niece, Cathy Shands, both of Clanton, AL; his brother, Harry Delph and his wife Eunice, of Gates, TN. In his later years, James was blessed with the unwavering care and companionship of Kathy Conlee and Dana Burns, whose kindness and dedication brought comfort to his days. A proud veteran, James served with honor in the United States Army, where his courage and loyalty shone brightly. Following his military service, he dedicated his professional life to being a salesman, where his natural charm and genuine interest in others earned him the respect and friendship of colleagues and clients alike. James was a man of simple pleasures and profound love for his community. A devout member of his church, his faith was a guiding light throughout his life, and his church family held a special place in his heart. He was a passionate Tennessee fan, and this enthusiasm was rivaled only by his love for his collection of coffee mugs, each one a testament to his appreciation for life's small joys. His fondness for fish and chicken was well known, and he often shared meals with friends, his laughter filling the room. James was a man of great affection for his town, often seen walking through the streets, visiting with neighbors, and engaging in the lives of those around him. His presence was a constant reminder of the power of community and the importance of connection. A celebration of James's life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Halls Funeral Home, located at 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor his memory and share in the stories and love that define his legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in James's honor to the Serenity Animal Farm, 1950 County Rd. 254, Clanton, AL 35046, reflecting his compassion and love for all living creatures. James F. Delph's legacy is one of warmth, kindness, and unwavering loyalty. His spirit will forever be a guiding light for those who knew him, and his memory will be cherished in the hearts of many.
