James Edward Tesnear

James Edward Tesnear, affectionately known as Jay, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 30, 1974, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, Jay lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of all who knew him. Jay was a devoted son to his parents, Nancie Jeanette Dowler and James Edward Tesnear Sr., who have both predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his beloved granddaughters, Elizabeth Amari McBride and Kalanei Journee Antwanette Batten. Despite these profound losses, Jay’s spirit remained unbroken, characterized by his resilience and boundless love for family. He leaves behind his cherished children: his oldest daughter Jaycee Dowler, along with his grandchildren, including A'Riyah Mae Mackayla Gainza; his daughter Christyn Tesnear; and his son Ethan Dowler. Jay was blessed with ten grandchildren, each of whom he adored with all his heart. Jay's life was a testament to generosity and love. Known for his willingness to give the shirt off his back, he was a great father who embraced life to its fullest. His passion for fishing and hunting was only surpassed by his love for spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever. In honoring Jay’s memory, a service will be held on September 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Padgett Funeral Services and Cremation. The family wishes to extend a message of gratitude for the outpouring of support and love during this difficult time. They ask for continued prayers for his children and grandchildren as they navigate the days ahead. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Jay's memory. This gesture of kindness echoes the generosity that Jay embodied throughout his life.
