James Edward Jordan, a devoted family man and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on October 17, 1942, in Spokane, Washington, James, affectionately known as Jim, lived a life marked by service, love, and integrity. Jim was the beloved son of Andrew Ivory Jordan and Lorna Delight Pitts, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his cherished wife, Janet Caroline Hilbert Jordan, and his beloved daughter, Debra Jordan. Despite these profound losses, Jim remained a pillar of strength and compassion for his surviving family members. He is lovingly remembered by his son, James Theron Jordan, and his stepchildren, Cindy Miller, Twila Pratt, Debbie, Matthew, and Michael. Jim's enduring legacy is also carried forward by his siblings, whose lives were deeply touched by his unwavering kindness and support. In his early years, Jim honorably served his country in the United States Navy, where he developed a strong sense of duty and discipline that would guide him throughout his life. Following his military service, Jim embarked on a distinguished career as a Sheriff's Deputy Investigator. His dedication to justice and his community shone brightly as he worked tirelessly to solve numerous crimes, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and those he served. Jim was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he fulfilled numerous callings, including serving as a Temple Worker. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and comfort during challenging times. Throughout his life, Jim was known for his unwavering devotion to his family. In the final years of Janet's life, Jim's constant care and devotion were a testament to his deep love for her, ensuring she felt cherished and comfortable. Together, Jim and Janet shared a passion for travel, often exploring the beauty of Mexico and Alaska. However, their most treasured moments were spent at their cabin in Star Valley, Wyoming, where they enjoyed golfing and hosting family gatherings. Jim's gentle spirit, selflessness, and warmth touched the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. His legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those who knew him.
