LaFrenier, a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world unexpectedly at his home on July 7, 2026. Born in Saginaw, Michigan, on February 21, 1949, Jim was a beacon of humor, strength, and love throughout his life. Jim was the beloved son of the late James LaFrenier and Lucille Grace LaFrenier. He was predeceased by his parents, whose love and guidance shaped him into the remarkable man he became. Jim leaves behind his devoted wife, Kathy LaFrenier, who was his steadfast companion and the love of his life. His memory will also be cherished by his younger brother, Gary LaFrenier, and his wife Renee, along with his younger sister, Leanne Miller, and her husband Alan. Uncle Jim was adored by his many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, who will always remember him for his warmth and humor. Jim graduated from Bay City Handy, where he began to cultivate his sharp intellect and keen sense of humor. He answered the call of duty by serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he worked diligently repairing tanks. His service to his country was a testament to his courage and dedication. After his military service, Jim embarked on a career at GM, where his work ethic and commitment were evident to all who worked alongside him. Beyond his professional life, Jim was a man of many passions. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding peace and fulfillment in the great outdoors. Those close to him knew him best for his quick wit and sarcasm, which brought laughter and joy to any gathering. Jim's life was one of integrity, humor, and love. He touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories. In honor of his life, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Jim's generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Though Jim has departed from this world, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he find eternal peace and endless adventures in the great beyond.
