James Daugherty, a beloved brother, friend, and passionate weather enthusiast, passed away peacefully at his home on April 29, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on December 15, 1967, in the open plains of Oklahoma, James spent his life in awe of the skies above, finding beauty and inspiration in the ever-changing weather. James was the cherished son of the late Carolyn and Harold Daugherty, who undoubtedly instilled in him his warm heart and gentle spirit. Both of his parents preceded him in death, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience in their son. James is survived by his devoted brother, Carl Williams, who shared countless memories and adventures with him over the years. Though he trained as a meteorologist, James found his calling in the bustling kitchens of the culinary world, working as a prep-cook for many years. His colleagues fondly remember him as a dedicated worker with a knack for bringing joy to those around him, always ready with a weather update or a hearty laugh. The staff at Jimmy's Egg, where James spent many fulfilling years, extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this time, acknowledging the profound impact James had on their lives. Beyond his professional endeavors, James was a man of simple pleasures. He took great delight in observing the weather, a passion that shaped much of his daily life and conversations. Whether it was a forecast of rain or a clear blue sky, James found a reason to appreciate each day. He also enjoyed the tranquility of outdoor moments and the playful escape of virtual farming on Farmville, where he could cultivate crops and friendships alike. A celebration of James's life will be held on May 27, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Sharon Baptist Church, located at 19002 South Garden Cooper Drive, Shawnee, OK 74801. Friends and family are welcome to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived, sharing stories and cherishing the moments spent with James. As we say goodbye to James, let us remember him as a beacon of kindness and enthusiasm, a man who found wonder in the world around him and shared it generously with others. His gentle spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering love for the weather will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
