James D. Jones

James D. Jones, a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with illness. Born on August 26, 1975, in Macon, Georgia, James touched the lives of many with his warm heart and playful spirit. James was the cherished son of the late James and Norma Jones. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his siblings Marvin Jones, Karl Jones, and Samantha Jones. He is survived by his loving siblings: James B. Durham, Greg Walker, Sandra Perkins and her husband Alexander, Mavis Bussey, Tangela Jones, Robert L. Jones and his wife Regina, Daphne Hampton and her husband Lonnie, and Gwendlyn Johnson. James was a devoted father to his two children, Jamaka Jones and Jasmine Kitchens, who were the pride and joy of his life. His legacy continues through his cherished granddaughter, Kaydence Jones. His family was the center of his world, and he found immense joy in spending time with them, often bringing laughter and silliness to every gathering. He received his education at John W. Burke Elementary School, where he made lifelong friends and began to develop the playful personality that would become his hallmark. Although he did not serve in the military, James served his community with kindness and humor, bringing joy to those around him. A service to celebrate James’s life will be held on November 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Jones Memorial Chapel, located at 3035 Millerfield Road, Macon, Georgia. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and honor the remarkable life James led. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of James’s generous spirit and his commitment to making the world a brighter place. James will be remembered for his infectious laughter and the way he could lighten any room with his presence. He leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
