James Curtis Graves, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 24, 1977, Curtis graced this world with his kind spirit and infectious zest for life, enriching the lives of everyone he encountered. Curtis was the cherished son of Paula Kay and Rick Hibbard, and Millie Sanchez, and he carried their teachings and love throughout his life. He shared a deep, unbreakable bond with his brother Ricky Hibbard, as well as his siblings Eddie Sanchez, Andre Kirby, and Alexandra Washington. He was a loving father to his children, Isaac Graves and Anaya Graves, and shared a special and loving relationship with his stepchildren, Julieanne Roldan (Aneudy Roldan) Dashaun McKenzie, and Nayquan McKenzie. He also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, all of whom will forever remember him with fondness. For eight beautiful years, Curtis was married to the love of his life, Elizabeth Lopez-Graves. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home, a testament to their enduring love and commitment. Curtis had a fulfilling career with Publix, where he dedicated six years of hard work and dedication. He was more than just a colleague; he was a friend and confidant to many, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. An avid Florida State Seminoles fan, Curtis's enthusiasm for the game was contagious. He also found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life gathering with family, cooking meals filled with love, and spending time fishing. These activities were not just hobbies but ways he formed connections and crafted memories with those he loved. A celebration of Curtis's life will be held on August 26, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home 335 SR 434 Longwood FL 32750 Family, friends, and all those touched by Curtis's warmth and generosity are invited to come together to honor his memory. Followed by a service and burial on Thursday August 27th 2026 @ 12 pm. Curtis will be remembered for his unwavering love, boundless generosity, and the joy he spread so effortlessly. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and in the countless lives he touched. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
