Born on July 30, 1946, in the close-knit community of Mount Washington, Kentucky, James was the beloved son of the late James and Opal Roller. He was a man who cherished family above all, finding joy and purpose in the bonds he nurtured throughout his life.
James was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Roller, with whom he shared countless adventures and tender moments. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter, creating a legacy that will be cherished by generations to come. James was the proud father of sons Jacob Roller and Wesley Roller, who inherited his wisdom, kindness, and enduring work ethic.
Family was the cornerstone of James's life, and he was predeceased by his cherished daughter Kimberly Roller and son David Roller Sr., whose memories he held close to his heart every day. James also leaves behind his supportive brother, Jerry Roller, and his caring sister, Jeanne Roller, along with an extended family that includes numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit, his lessons, and his love.
James was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the everyday beauty of life. Whether tending to his garden, sharing stories with friends, or cheering on his favorite sports teams, he lived each day with an open heart and an unwavering optimism. His warm smile and generous spirit were a beacon to all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness will undoubtedly live on.
A celebration of James's life will be held on May 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home & Brookland Cemetery, located at 4895 N Preston Highway, Shepherdsville, Kentucky 40165.
