James C. "Jimmy" Williams, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on July 4, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 6, 1945, in Blue Ridge, South Carolina, Jimmy was a beacon of strength and wisdom to all who knew him. His life was marked by enduring love and devotion, a testament to his character. Jimmy was the beloved son of the late Henry Williams and Irene Morgan. He was predeceased by his parents and his son-in-law, James Cureton. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Cathy Williams, who stood by his side since their marriage on November 28, 1970. Together, they created a beautiful family, including his daughters, Mechelle "Missy" Cureton and Crissy Williams, and his son, Kevin Williams. His legacy lives on through his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride. A man of few words, Jimmy possessed a rare ability to make an impact with his quiet strength and innate wisdom. His resilience and steadfastness were admired by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jimmy served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam Era, a period that shaped his outlook on life and deepened his appreciation for family and friends. Jimmy's professional life was as varied as it was fulfilling. He spent many years managing and working as a mechanic in a bowling center pro shop, where he also shone as a regional pro bowler. His career path led him to become a carpet installer, and later in life, he found satisfaction and camaraderie as a forklift driver in a warehouse. A proud member of the South Carolina Bowling Association, Jimmy's passion for bowling was a constant throughout his life. Beyond his professional endeavors, Jimmy was a man of diverse interests. He found peace in fishing, excitement in Nascar, and joy in watching wrestling. A loyal Braves fan, he never missed a game, and his love for Westerns was well-known among his family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Jimmy's life will be held on July 9, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Palmetto Mortuary, located at 1710 Mauldin Road, Greenville, SC 29607. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Palmetto Mortuary and Prisma Hospice Care for their unwavering support and excellent service during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jimmy's memory to a charity of one's choice. Jimmy's legacy of love, resilience, and wisdom will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
