James's devotion to his family was unparalleled, and he was a proud father to Jovonne Bailey, Andre Benton, Javontae Griffin, and Shyanne Griffin. He was also a doting grandfather to 48 grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Always ready with a joke to lighten the mood, he had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel at ease.
