James Allen Frolik Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on September 16, 1949, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Jim was the beloved son of the late James Anton Frolik and Mildred Prochazka Frolik, who instilled in him the values of hard work, kindness, and an unyielding love for family. Jim's life was marked by dedication and service. After graduating from high school in 1967, he answered the call of duty and served his country with honor in the United States Navy until 1971. It was during these formative years that Jim developed a remarkable sense of discipline and an enduring work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. In 1971, Jim married the love of his life, Nancy Frolik. Their union was a testament to love and commitment, nurturing a family that would become Jim's greatest joy. In June 1975, they welcomed their son, Mack, into the world, marking the beginning of a new chapter filled with laughter, adventure, and cherished memories. Jim was a master mechanic, a craftsman whose expertise knew no bounds. His hands could breathe life into anything mechanical, building cars from the ground up with a precision and artistry that left those around him in awe. His passion for automobiles was shared through his love of reading, particularly anything that graced the pages of Car & Driver magazines. His mechanical prowess was matched only by his extraordinary kindness and genuine interest in the people he met. Jim possessed a remarkable ability to remember everyone's loved ones by name, and he never failed to ask about them with sincere curiosity and warmth. This rare quality endeared him to all who crossed his path, leaving a legacy of friendship and love that will be remembered for generations. Jim's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy, who stood by his side through every high and low, and their beloved son, Mack, along with Mack's wife, Carri. Jim's joy was further amplified by his grandchildren, Mason and Gracie, who brought boundless light and laughter into his life. His sister, Carol Lett, and nephew, Stan (Winaida) Lett, along with numerous great nieces and nephews, will forever cherish the memories of his gentle spirit and loving presence. Though Jim is predeceased by his parents, James and Mildred, their legacy lives on in the family he so dearly loved and the countless lives he touched. As we say goodbye to Jim, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, service, and an unwavering commitment to family and friends. His memory will remain in our hearts, a guiding light reminding us of the power of love and the importance of kindness. A service to honor Jim's life will be held at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, in memory of Jim's generous spirit. Rest in peace, dear Jim. Your legacy of love and kindness will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know you.
