In Loving Memory

James Alan Lindley
December 30, 1963 — March 22, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Alan Lindley, a beloved son, brother, partner, and friend, who left us on March 22, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on December 30, 1963, in Ft. Belvoir, VA, James, lovingly known as Jim, was a beacon of laughter and warmth to all who knew him.
Jim was the cherished son of Alan Lindley and the late Nancy Lindley, and the devoted brother to Scott Lindley. He is predeceased by his mother, Nancy, and his siblings, Danny and Pam Lindley. Jim's journey through life was embellished by the love of his extended family, including Lucky, Jasper, Amy, Anabelle, Maximus, and Zavier Lindley, who all cherished his infectious spirit.
For over 25 years, Jim shared a beautiful companionship with his beloved girlfriend, Sue Randlett. Their union, though never formalized through marriage, was a testament to enduring love and friendship. Together, they found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially in the company of their dogs and tending to their outdoor bird sanctuary. The Lindley family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Sue for the love and happiness she brought to Jim's life, noting how his world revolved around her.
A proud graduate of Woodbridge High School, Jim went on to serve his country with honor as an engineer in the Army for four years during the early 1990s. His commitment to service was followed by a successful 30-year career in the HVAC industry, where he was known for his dedication and expertise.
Outside of work, Jim's true passion lay in music. An avid guitar player since his youth, he spent countless hours writing songs and bringing people together through his performances at local venues throughout Woodridge, VA. Music was his language, and through it, he spoke to the hearts of many.
Jim's legacy is one of joy and laughter. He was the life of any gathering, known for his quick wit, humorous impersonations, and the ability to bring a smile to anyone's face. His stories and jokes were not merely entertainment but reflections of his generous heart and zest for life.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Jim's memory, as per the family's wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages sharing a memory or an act of kindness in Jim's name, perpetuating the joy and warmth he spread in life.
Jim may have left this world, but his spirit will forever resonate in the laughter and love of those he touched. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we hold close the memories and the light he brought into our lives. Rest in peace, dear Jim. You will always be remembered, and your music will play on in our hearts.
