In Loving Memory

Jamaica Bordeaux
April 24, 1996 — June 20, 2026
Jamaica Bordeaux, a cherished mother, daughter, sister, and friend, was called to rest on June 20, 2026, at the tender age of 30. Born on April 24, 1996, in Rapid City, South Dakota, Jamaica was a beacon of light and love, whose heart was as expansive as the sky above the Black Hills she called home.
Jamaica was the beloved daughter of John Klawitter and the late Rochelle Bordeaux, who preceded her in death. From her parents, she inherited a spirit of kindness and an enduring love for family, which she carried with her throughout her life. Jamaica is survived by her beautiful daughter, Taylor Lynn Marie Chapman, who was undeniably the center of her universe. As a mother, Jamaica was unparalleled in her devotion, always placing Taylor's happiness and well-being above all else.
Her journey as a mother began when she met Taylor Chapman Jr. at Jefferson Academy. Although their paths diverged, their friendship endured, and together they shared the joy of raising their daughter. Jamaica's love for her family extended beyond her daughter and father; she leaves behind two sisters who were her confidantes and lifelong friends, as well as her beloved Aunt Carlene Bordeaux, Aunt Sarah Martens, and Rita Martens, who held special places in her heart.
Jamaica was known for her vibrant personality, her infectious laughter, and her generous spirit. Despite the challenges of living with diabetes, she embraced life fully, savoring the simple pleasures like her favorite Mt. Dew and her cherished "chuns." Her love for the animated series "Rugrats" was a testament to her playful spirit and her ability to find joy in every corner of life.
She devoted her life to helping others, always eager to lend a hand to those in need. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her compassion touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Jamaica's legacy is one of love and generosity, a testament to the impact of a life lived with an open heart.
A celebration of Jamaica's life will take place on July 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Canyon Lake in Rapid City, SD. Family, friends, and community members are invited to gather to honor and remember Jamaica's extraordinary life. The service will be a time to share stories, shed tears, and find comfort in the embrace of those who knew and loved her.
Jamaica will be carried to her final resting place by pallbearers Taylor Chapman Jr., Taylor Chapman Sr., Mitch Wisecarver, Noah Dillon, Cameron Dillon, Chuck Taylor Dillon, Benjamin Thesing, and Randy Thesing Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Kyla Blacksmith, Myesha Goings, Lona Rencountre, Danell Rencountre, and members of the Bordeaux, Chapman, Rencountre, Goings, Richards, Dillon, Cuny, Dubray, Tarah & Brew, Grace & Ashley Puppel, and Grey Owl families.
In this time of mourning, Jamaica's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all who have offered support and love. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched, a reminder of the power of love and the beauty of life.
Rest peacefully, dear Jamaica. Your kindness, laughter, and love will forever be cherished.
