JALISA IVORY FUREY
February 18, 2008 — December 26, 2013
With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of our beloved Jalisa Ivory Furey, who left this world far too soon on December 26, 2013, at the tender age of five. Born on February 18, 2008, in Milton, Florida, Jalisa was an angel who blessed our lives with her presence and taught us the true meaning of love and courage.
Jalisa was the precious first child of Ethan Furey and Lasandra Hicks. From the moment she graced us with her smile, she filled every space with laughter and warmth. Her lively spirit and loving nature were apparent in every hug she gave, every giggle she shared, and every moment she spent with those she held dear. Jalisa's playful energy and infectious joy made every day brighter for her family and friends.
Despite her young age, Jalisa faced life's greatest challenge with remarkable bravery. She fought a courageous battle against cancer, all the while surrounded by the unwavering love of her family. Her strength and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew her, reminding us of the profound impact a single life can have.
The love Jalisa gave and received was boundless. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of childhood—playing, laughing, and being with her family. Her kind-heartedness and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered, and her memory will forever be a guiding light in our lives.
Jalisa leaves behind a family who adores her: her devoted parents, Ethan Furey and Lasandra Hicks; her younger brother, Jayden Roberts; her grandparents, Robert and Susan Furey, and Monique Smith; her uncle and godfather, Matthew Furey; her aunt and godmother, Latease James; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will always hold her dear in their hearts. She joins her grandfather, Tony Hicks, in eternal peace.
In honor of Jalisa’s beautiful spirit, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her life and the incredible love she shared with all of us. While her time with us was brief, her legacy of love, joy, and courage will endure forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
Jalisa Ivory Furey, a little girl with a big heart, taught us how to embrace each day with love and laughter. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, reminding us to cherish every moment and to hold our loved ones close.
