It is with profound sadness and yet a spirit of celebration that we announce the peaceful passing of Jakob T. Lester on June 9, 2026 in Cocoa Beach Florida, in the embrace of his home after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. Born on August 9, 1996, in the vibrant city of Orlando, Florida, Jakob's life was a testament to love, creativity, and resilience.
Jakob was the cherished son of Vernon and Angeline Benefiel Lester, whose nurturing spirit and unwavering support shaped his formative years. Jakob started his life with health issues the day he was born, he was a brave baby that endured many surgeries including an open heart surgery. He shared a deep bond with his siblings, Stephan J. Lester, Tonya R. Lester, and Benjamin K. Lester, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Extended bond with step mother Lynn Lester, and his mother's partner Walt McCombs. His grandmother, Erika Benefiel, also survives him, offering wisdom and love and many stories of the past which Jakob enjoyed listening to throughout his life.
Preceding him in death were his grandfather, First Sergeant Major Dudley Benefiel Jr., and his beloved Uncle Ted Benefiel, close family friend Mr William Laur whose legacies undoubtedly influenced Jakob's path.
Jakob's educational journey was marked by his graduation from Ocoee High School on May 13, 2014 at the age of 17. His passion for the arts led him to the Florida Institute of Recording, Sound, and Technology, Inc., where he graduated on May 12, 2017, having completed a comprehensive program in recording arts and show production. This foundation fueled his creative endeavors and his commitment to the arts community.
In his professional life, Jakob was a beacon of creativity and innovation. His talents in recording arts were a reflection of his dedication and inspired many who had the privilege of working alongside him. Jakob's contributions to his field were significant, leaving a legacy that will continue to resonate. Jakob will also be remembered for his amazing ability to enjoy all genres of music, his love for metal music and bands, comedy clubs, strip clubs and Deep conversations, his love for nature and silly moments with friends. His joyful laugh and always wanting every one to be at peace with each other. And of course none of us can forget his enjoyment of 420.
Jakob's family extends a heartfelt thank you to Laura Vinci and the compassionate team at Omega Cremations in Satellite Beach, Florida, for their gentle guidance and support during this deeply challenging time.
In honoring Jakob's memory, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice especially an Animal humane society reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to making a difference in the world.
