JAKEEN JOSEPH WALKER

Jakeen Joseph Walker, a shining light in the lives of all who knew him, passed away on September 4, 2026. Born on April 15, 1991, in Oglethorpe, Georgia, Jakeen was the beloved son of Joseph and Sharonda Walker. His life, though brief, was filled with immeasurable love, joy, and laughter.
Jakeen's early years were spent in Taylor County, where he attended public schools and graduated as the valedictorian of the Class of 2010. His academic achievements were just one of the many ways he demonstrated his dedication and commitment to excellence.
A man of simple pleasures, Jakeen loved life and found joy in everyday activities. He could often be found walking, riding his bike, or playing basketball. Cooking was another of his passions, and he delighted in preparing meals for his family. His devotion to his parents was unwavering, and he cherished the time spent with his mother and his best friend, his father, Joseph Walker.
Jakeen's love for animals was evident in the care he gave to his cherished dogs, Lacy and Bone. He also enjoyed joy riding and was known for his spirited love of life, always wearing a smile that could light up any room.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Florence Lyons and Clifford Dixon; paternal great-grandparents, Tiny Walker and Isaiah Walker; maternal grandparents, Mamie and Emmanuel Howell; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, who undoubtedly greeted him with open arms.
Jakeen leaves behind a loving family that adored him beyond measure. His siblings, Lakia Walker, Kaliil and his loving sister-in-law Rineshia Walker, Jordan and his loving sister-in-law Keyuna Walker, and his adoring nephew Jerimiah Walker, will all carry his memory in their hearts. He is also survived by his cousins, Derrick Grey, Christopher Walker, Bryan Sanders, Isaiah Waymon, and Kiori Thomas, who were more like brothers to him.
The family will celebrate Jakeen's life on September 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Westside Church of God in Christ, located at 11 Church St, Butler, GA 31006. As we gather to honor his life and legacy, we remember Jakeen's spirit that always laughed and smiled, a beacon of light that can never be extinguished.
Jakeen Joseph Walker's life was a testament to love, joy, and the importance of family. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit continues to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
