It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Parker Rawlings, a remarkable woman whose life was a beacon of joy, love, and resilience. Jacqueline, affectionately known to those close to her as Jackie, was born on April 9, 1951, in Suffolk, Virginia, to the late Florence Ford and Christopher Columbus Parker. On June 17, 2026, she peacefully left this world at the Cypress Point Nursing Home, after courageously battling cancer. Jackie's journey through life was marked by an indomitable spirit and a radiant smile that could light up any room. Although health challenges prevented her from working extensively, they never dimmed her vitality or her zest for life. Jackie was a vibrant soul who found immense joy in dancing, listening to music, shopping, and solving crossword puzzles. Her friendships were numerous, and she cherished every moment spent with those she loved, bringing laughter and happiness wherever she went. Jackie was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her two sons, Christopher Rawlings (Roslyn) and Keifus Rawlings (Lashawn), who carry forward her spirit of resilience and warmth. Her cherished memories will also live on through her seven sisters—Jessica Parker, Linda Roberts, Marcella Brooks, Yolanda Parker, and Bridget Dreuitt—who, along with their departed sisters Brenda Miller and Patricia Parker, formed an unbreakable bond of sisterhood. As a grandmother, Jackie took immense pride in her three grandchildren, Olajuwon, Ishmael, and Essence, and she delighted in the laughter of her great-grandchild, Patience Rawlings. Her family was her heart, and she was theirs—a constant source of love and stories that will be passed down through generations. Jackie was blessed with a large extended family, including her beloved aunts, Gladys Manley and Beverly Green, and a host of nieces and nephews who all adored her. Her family was her anchor, and she was theirs, a testament to the strong ties and love that defined her life. As we gather to celebrate Jackie's life, we invite you to join us on June 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, located at 635 Brook Ave, Suffolk, VA 23434. We will honor her memory with a service that reflects the joy and love she brought into our lives. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out with calls, thoughts, and visits during this time of bereavement. Your support has been a source of comfort. A special thanks to Cypress Point Rehabilitation and Nursing for their exceptional care, and to Chaplain and family friend George Bailey for his unwavering support. In our hearts, Jackie’s laughter and stories will echo forever. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
