In Loving Memory

Jacqueline Lavon Keefer
July 22, 1953 — November 4, 2026
Jacqueline Lavon Keefer, lovingly known as Jackie, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on July 22, 1953, in the quaint town of Little Valley, PA, Jackie was the cherished daughter of the late Willard George Swartz and Vivian Wilma (Brown) Swartz. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence "Peewee" Swartz, whom she adored dearly.
Jackie leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Gary Lee Keefer. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared many joyous memories. She was the cherished mother of three daughters: Traci, married to Kevin Henry; Tonia Keefer; and Terri, married to Sam Poper. Jackie was also the proud grandmother of four wonderful grandchildren: Wyatt Poper, Bryce Poper, Blaire Henry, and Daryn Poper, who is engaged to Kaylynn.
Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and her love extended beyond her immediate family to include her dear friend Arlene Chalfant, who was like a sister to her. Jackie also leaves behind her beloved niece, Wendy Vognet; great-niece Lyndsie, married to Eddie Nolen; and great-nephew Logan, married to Erika Swartz, as well as her great-great-nieces Micaela, Penelope, and Gracelynn.
Jackie dedicated 30 years of her life to Chambersburg Hospital, where she worked as a Dietary Assistant until her retirement in 2010. Her colleagues remember her as a compassionate and diligent worker, always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand.
In her leisure time, Jackie found happiness in simple pleasures. She enjoyed watching television, with a fondness for game shows, indulging in shopping sprees, and treating herself to manicures. Her vibrant spirit and love for life touched everyone who knew her.
A celebration of Jackie's life will be held on December 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the LSL Sportsman located at 3549 Orrstown Road, Orrstown, PA. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her remarkable life and share in the memories she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jackie's memory to the Broad Top City Cemetery, a gesture that she would have appreciated deeply.
Jackie's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be missed beyond measure. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
