It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Kay Colbath, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world on May 2, 2026, at the age of 70. Jacqueline, known affectionately as "Jackie" to those close to her, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family. Born on November 7, 1955, in the vibrant city of San Antonio, Texas, Jackie was the cherished daughter of Donald and Elizabeth Trevathan. From a young age, she exhibited a bright spirit and a warm heart, qualities that she carried throughout her life. Jackie was preceded in death by her devoted parents, her brother Clifton, and her loving husband, Walter, who was her partner in life and love. Jackie found her soulmate in Walter Colbath, whom she married in 1986. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with love and shared dreams. The couple eventually settled in the charming coastal town of Rockport, where they established their own mechanic shop. Jackie played a pivotal role as the office manager, ensuring the smooth operation of their business while also nurturing a warm and welcoming environment for their customers. Her commitment to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, especially in her devotion to her daughter, Melissa. Jackie cherished her role as a grandmother to her three grandchildren—Hunter, Cayden, and BriAnn—who were the light of her life. Her laughter and love will forever echo in their hearts, as she imparted wisdom, kindness, and joy in each moment shared. Jackie's warmth extended beyond her family; she was a friend and confidante to many, always ready with a listening ear or a comforting embrace. Her strength and grace in the face of life's challenges inspired all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and an indomitable spirit that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. A service to celebrate Jacqueline's life will be held for family and friends at a later date, as her loved ones gather to honor her memory and the profound impact she had on their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jackie’s memory to cancer research organizations, reflecting her own courage and hope in the face of adversity. Jackie’s memory will forever be cherished by her daughter Melissa, her adored grandchildren, her siblings Gwen(Buddy), Cindy, Donald(Irene), her extended family, and a wide circle of friends. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we hold dearly the love she shared, the laughter she brought, and the strength she embodied. May her soul find peace, and may her spirit continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
