Jacqueline Dalke
March 9, 1940 — March 9, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jacqueline "Jackie" Dalke, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend. Jackie peacefully departed this world on March 9, 2026, her 86th birthday, in the loving embrace of her family in Newton, Kansas.
Born on March 9, 1940, in Emporia, Kansas, to Orville and Evelyn Montgomery, Jackie was a beacon of warmth and kindness from the very beginning. She was raised in a nurturing environment that instilled in her the values of love, compassion, and resilience—qualities she carried throughout her life.
Jackie graduated from Newton High School, where she began to cultivate a lifelong passion for learning and service. Following her graduation, she pursued a career that combined her love for helping others with her keen interest in healthcare by attending X-Ray Technician School. She dedicated many years of her professional life to serving as an X-Ray technician at Axtel Hospital in Newton, Kansas. Later, she transitioned to working as a dental assistant for Dr. Greg, where her gentle manner and attention to detail left a lasting impact on colleagues and patients alike.
On August 2, 1960, Jackie married the love of her life, Alvin Dalke. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising four wonderful children: Dianna Shook, Brad Dalke, Brian Dalke, and David Dalke. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was a devoted mother and grandmother who relished every moment spent with her 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Jackie was a long-time member of Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, where she found a deep sense of community and purpose. Her faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.
Outside of her professional and family life, Jackie had a knack for making magic with a wooden spoon. Her culinary skills were renowned, and she delighted in bringing people together over hearty meals and sweet treats, creating memories that her loved ones will cherish forever.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Dalke, and is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we bid farewell to Jackie, we celebrate a life well-lived, one that touched countless hearts and left an indelible mark on the world. Her memory will remain a guiding light for her family and friends, reminding us all of the power of love and the beauty of a life dedicated to others.
A memorial service to honor Jackie’s life will be held at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the church in Jackie’s memory, celebrating her life of service, love, and faith.
