In Loving Memory

Jacqueline D Betts
February 4, 1964 — April 25, 2026
Jacqueline D. Betts, a beacon of light and laughter, gracefully departed from this world on April 25, 2026, after a valiant battle with kidney cancer. Born on February 4, 1964, in the charming town of Vidalia, Georgia, Jacqueline brought warmth and joy to everyone she met. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember a woman whose heart was as vast as her smile was bright.
Jacqueline was the beloved daughter of the late Andrew Cook Sr. and Mae Bess Cook, who instilled in her a deep sense of family and community. She was predeceased by her cherished parents, whose love and guidance shaped the woman Jacqueline became. She is survived by her loving children: daughters Robbie Cook Mobley, Kendra Cook, Adrienne Betts, and son Jamal Betts. Her legacy lives on in her eight adored grandchildren: Kaleb, Joshua, Corinthian, Tiffton, Shamar, Landon, Karson, and Kingston, who were the apples of her eye.
A proud graduate of Vidalia High School in 1982, Jacqueline pursued her passion for helping others by earning her LPN license from STC of Vidalia, Georgia. For 21 years, she served with dedication and compassion as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Carl V. VA Medical Center. Her career was a testament to her nurturing spirit and commitment to caring for others.
Jacqueline was not only a devoted mother and grandmother but also a beloved sister to Annette Wright and five brothers: Larry, Benson, Jerry, Allan, and Andrew Jr. Her family, including a host of other relatives and friends, was the center of her world.
After retiring due to medical challenges in 2021, Jacqueline devoted herself even more to her family, finding immense joy in cooking and spending precious moments with her grandchildren. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and laughter, where love was the main ingredient in every dish.
Known for her bright smile and whimsical sense of humor, Jacqueline had an uncanny ability to turn ordinary moments into cherished memories. She was the life of the party, bringing light and laughter wherever she went. Her silly ways and infectious laughter will be missed, but never forgotten.
A celebration of Jacqueline's life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at My Moriah Baptist Church, located at 1855 Sawmill Rd, Ailey, GA 30410. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering strength.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shown kindness and support during this difficult time. Jacqueline's legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire all who knew her. Rest in peace, dear Jacqueline, knowing you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
