It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacky, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, who left this world on September 9, 2026, after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. Born on May 19, 1967, in Mbuji Mayi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Jacky was a beacon of warmth and love to all who knew her.
Jacky was the cherished daughter of the late Gode and Djouna Tshimanga. She was predeceased by her dear son, Benny, whom she now joins in eternal peace. Her legacy continues through her devoted husband, Benny Watunda, with whom she shared 33 years of marriage. Together, they created a life filled with love and laughter, nurturing their two wonderful children, Jean Paul and Sephora.
A woman of deep faith, Jacky was an active member of New Life Church Loudoun for 18 years, where she served as the Intercessory Prayer leader for the women's ministry. Her dedication extended beyond the church as she volunteered tirelessly at local shelters, offering comfort and meals to those in need. Her service to others was a true testament to her generous spirit.
Jacky's joy for life was evident in her love for cooking and gardening, often surrounding herself with the beauty of the fruits and vegetables she lovingly tended. Her home was a place of warmth, filled with the sounds of laughter, singing, and dancing. Known for her quick wit and infectious smile, she had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her kindness and generosity touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to know her.
A service to honor Jacky's life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, located at 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, VA, 20176. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Jacky's memory.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and prayers during this difficult time. In the words of Jacky’s family, "We thank God for his goodness and your support during these difficult times." Jacky's light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched, forever remembered and deeply missed.
