July 1, 1947 — October 15, 2026
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jackie (Jack) Louis Thomure Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and friend. Jack left this world on October 15, 2026, at the VA Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, following a brave battle after a stroke. Born on July 1, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, Jack lived a life full of love, commitment, and service.
Jack was the beloved son of Maxine Davis and Bill Thomure. He spent his formative years in St. Louis, where he cultivated a strong sense of community and dedication, traits that defined his life. On October 26, 1968, Jack married the love of his life, Bobbie Sue White, in a beautiful ceremony in St. Louis. Together, they enjoyed 58 wonderful years of marriage, raising four devoted sons: Jackie Jr., Jeffery, Joseph, and Jason. Their family continued to grow with the joy of seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense pride and happiness to Jack’s life.
Jack honorably served his country in the Army, a reflection of his deep sense of duty and patriotism. His career also included a strong affiliation with Teamster Local 600, where he worked diligently and forged lasting friendships. However, it was his role as a coach that truly captured his heart. Jack dedicated countless hours coaching young men in baseball and basketball from third to eighth grade, leading many teams to championship victories. His influence extended far beyond the game, as he imparted life lessons and inspired many young athletes.
Beyond his professional and coaching endeavors, Jack loved traveling and found peace and joy relaxing at his beloved lake house. These moments were shared with family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
A service to celebrate Jack's life will be held on November 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at JB Funeral Home, located at 777 Oakwood Dr (off of Hwy 141) in Fenton, Missouri. Family and friends are invited to gather and share in the remembrance of a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital, honoring Jack’s legacy of generosity and care for others.
