Jackie "Jack" Lee Hubbard

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Jackie "Jack" L. Hubbard, who left this world on July 2, 2026, at the age of 89. Jack's final days were spent surrounded by the love of his family, with his devoted wife of 62 years, Mary and daughter Julie, by his side, in the comfort of their cherished home in Jackson, California. Born on August 15, 1936, in the quaint town of Aldrich, Missouri. Jack was the son of Ruth Mae Mosier. He was predeceased by his Loving Mother Ruth and beloved siblings, Lewis Eugene "Gene" Hubbard, Patty Lorain "Pat" Adney, Bobbie Dean "Bob" Hubbard, and Mary Kay Squeo, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms as he joined them in eternal rest. Jack was a man shaped by the values of hard work and perseverance, which were instilled in him from a young age. He graduated from Tranquility High School in 1954 and shortly thereafter, joined the United States Air Force. From October 11, 1954, to September 8, 1959, Jack served with distinction as a valued member of the 1885th Airways and Air Communication Service, stationed in Japan. His service to his country was a testament to his character and his unwavering sense of duty. After his military service, Jack embarked on a career as an electrical technician with a focus in communications. His work took him across the United States, where he honed his skills and built a life full of experiences. Eventually, he settled into a position with Motorola Communications, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 1996. On a fateful Halloween night, Jack met the love of his life, Mary, at the officers club. Their whirlwind romance led to marriage on December 28, 1963. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them through various corners of the country before finding their forever home in Jackson, California, in 1974. It was there they raised their two beloved children, William "Bill" Hubbard and Julie Hubbard-Morsy, amidst the safety and serenity of their close-knit community. Jack's love for the outdoors was a cornerstone of his life. He spent countless hours fishing with his young children and many seasons hunting birds with his son, Bill. In his retirement years, he took up golfing and could often be found enjoying a round at Castle Oaks. Yet, it was the simple pleasures that brought Jack the greatest joy—sitting in his recliner, watching his grandson play ball and sharing quiet evenings with Mary, enjoying the bounty of his annual summer garden and basking in the tranquility of their home. A man of few words, Jack was known for his honesty, integrity, and the occasional unexpected joke or life story. His wisdom and straightforward nature left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, their son Bill and his wife Donna, and their daughter Julie. He leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, Isabelle (22), Bryce (22) and Lila (19), who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister Barbara "Sue" Haney and his brother Donnie Ray "Don" Hubbard, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Amador/Calaveras and the dedicated home caregivers who ensured Jack's comfort and facilitated his final wishes. Their support allowed Jack to spend his last days in the peace of his home, surrounded by those he loved most. Jack's legacy is one of love, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to be touched by his presence. As we say goodbye, we take solace in the knowledge that Jack is at peace, watching over us with the same quiet strength and enduring love he shared throughout his life.
